I asked our art teacher, Mrs. Roy, for her opinions on A.I. art. I began by asking her, “Do you like A.I. art?” She responded, “No, personally, I think A.I. art lacks what makes art so important, which is human expression and connection.” I agreed with her because I believe that human creativity and emotion are important parts of what makes art meaningful.

I then asked her, “Do you think A.I. is killing the meaning of art?” She replied, “I don't think it can kill the meaning of art. Those who appreciate art will keep appreciating art; those who already do not will continue to do so.” I also agree with this statement. While A.I. may change the way people create and view art, I do not think it can completely take away the meaning or importance of art.

Next, I asked her, “Do you think A.I. art is copyright?” She explained, “Yes, A.I. cannot have original ideas; it uses other artists' ideas and combines them. Usually, artists have not consented to have their artwork used to train A.I.” I believe this is a very important point because artists put their own creativity, time, and effort into their work. The use of artists’ work to train AI without their permission raises important questions about copyright and ownership.

After that, I asked, “Do you think A.I. will take over artists?” She answered, “In some ways, yes. I have already seen a rise in people using A.I. over graphic designers and commissioning artists.” I agree with her because A.I. is already being used in place of some artists and graphic designers. This could make it more difficult for some artists to find work or earn money from their creativity.

Finally, I asked her, “Is A.I. art authentic or not?” She explained, “No, while A.I. can be used as a tool, it is not capable of original thought.” I fully agree with her answer. Although AI can be a useful tool for artists, I believe there is an important difference between something created through human thought and expression and something generated by A.I.

Overall, I agree with all of Mrs. Roy’s answers to my questions. I believe A.I. art can be useful in certain situations, but it should not replace the creativity, emotion, originality, and personal connection that human artists bring to their work. How do you feel about A.I. art?
